Card three of four created at Stampin Up card party. I love the sentiment.
Second of four cards created at Stampin Up card party. This card was made by using punches and paper tearing. Cute!

Before this little gnome was bland. I painted him with acrylic outdoor paint and clear acrylic spray. He looks so cute now and ready to go in my garden!!

One person commented on the petals falling off the flower in "love me, loves me not', that it ended with loves me not. So, I added another petal to make the flower show, "loves me". I have to be careful and look for those tiny details myself!

Monday, May 7, 2012

I wanted to make this card, thinking about "loves me, loves me not" theme. I drew the card and used water colour pencils for shading and coloring. I used Martha Stewart's heart border punch and dimnsionals. The papers are from my stash.

Deer

My recent classes since the holidays have consisted of painting this deer near the grove of trees. The background is painted using a mixture of watercolor. Acrylic paint was used for the deer; a combination of white, raw sienna, burnt sienna, burnt umber, and yellow oxide. I painted the trees which is a dry brush stippling effect; using colors of primary blue, hookers green, and cadmium red.

An email of thanks

To our dog, Yogi...
Yogi, here is an email that your mom received concerning you and your friend at the hospital (Mr. Melvin) Great Job ! We are so proud of you !!

I just wanted to let you know that xxxx and I went by and visited with Melvin on Monday night. What a remarkable turnaround I've seen in him! He was so upbeat, it warmed both of our hearts.

... I wanted to mention to you both that the therapy dog, Yogi, seemed to make such a big difference in Melvin's state of mind. He even told xxxx and I that he'd given up on life, had told his wife that he was prepared to die, before the first time they sent Yogi to visit. He said Yogi made a big difference in his attitude.

Please pass to whoever handles Yogi. Perhaps he deserves an extra dog biscuit or carrot for his efforts!

Wish you both a nice New Year.

Yogi

Yogi is the shortened name for his AKC registration name, "Susie's Yogi of Tinkerbell Palace". He is certified by Delta Society as a pet therapy dog. We visit adult cancer patients, trauma, and antepartum patients at our local hospital. Yogi goes to nursing homes/assisted living homes and the local Ronald McDonald House.

Yogi is the quietest dog I have had. I believe he was born to be a therapy dog. At one time, my husband and I thought about entering him in competitions. But, after taking him to see my mom at a nursing home, I knew this was my calling and he was to be my teammate.

Rose for Mom

My mom loved roses. She always said, "Give my flowers while I am alive". I gave her this rose so she would always have one near her. After she passed away, I brought the rose home and placed it in my dining room. I love you mom and I miss you so much.

A card for fb friend

One of my fb friends is having a double mastectomy soon. I requested her address and she wrote that she would appreciate a card from Yogi, my Havanese puppy.
Yogi is a pet therapy dog and has his own fb page. Since she is one of our friends, Yogi and mine, I decided to make a doggie therapy card.

The sentiment is written as if Yogi would have written it, "we bin thinking of U". Inside the card, the hearts move to reveal that, "we luv u and her name". I included his Christmas card photo which includes Casey, our other Havanese. She recently became certifed as a pet therapy dog also.
